Cannot control at the app level, no data about time activity is displayed, and Instant Lock does not work

I posted the following in the Play Store,, but reposting here per response. We purchased this app today [originally Sunday] and so far it has been very disappointing and basically a waste of money. We purchased an iPhone for our child to replace his old Android device, which we used Google Family Link to control his time and apps accessed with no proble. With Norton Family, we cannot control at the app level, no data about time activity is displayed, and Instant Lock does not work. In addition, notifications pop up on the child's phone with little to no information on what is blocked.

Additional information: I followed all instructions shown in the video to ensure the application was installed properly on the iPhone. Although Alerts are showing on our child's phone, no alerts are showing on the Alerts screen in the Parent app. The version used is Norton Family 5.7.2.12 I am using the Norton Family on an Android device.

Re: Cannot control at the app level, no data about time activity is displayed, and Instant Lock does not work

Welcome to Norton Family forum.

In iOS Child app, when Instant lock is initiated or during a Time Supervision curfew, the apps (custom apps and few native apps) on the device gets hidden. The apps reappear post unlock or when time curfew ends.

From our investigation we noticed that Instant lock policy got executed on child's iOS device. Can you please recheck if the apps on the device are getting hidden during Instant lock

Additionally, controlling at App level or App supervision is not a feature that is available in iOS.

Notifications pop-up is displayed when an URL is blocked as per the house rules. Long pressing on the notification will give more details about the URL being blocked.

We also noticed that check-in related activities were reported from child's device. However, as of today, Android parent app does not support showing these activities, it will be supported in our future release. You can view these activities in Norton Family website.

Thanks,

Jey

I am not exactly happy with the outcome or the product, but it does not look like there is much else that can be done from the information in your post. While I thought I did sufficient research on the product before purchasing, I guess the information was not clear to me on what is supported on iOS. I definitely would not recommend it for multi platform controls.

Thanks for your feedback! We are continually looking at ways to evolve the product and add more features to our releases.
