mining returns. is it worth it or something is wrong?

i have been mining regularly since 24th september 2021 and all i have accrued is 0.000065366041 eth. im mining using gtx1660 at least 8 hours a day.

i know there was a "display" issue in the UI where the unpaid mining balance is not updated but that was reported last week and there has been no word since.

is norton using my resources and not paying me? or is the norton mining pool small that its unable to mine blocks?

it feels like my resources are being used without compensation or its really not worth (even wasteful) using norton crypto.

8 hrs for 6 days at ~20-25MH getting 0.000065366041 doesn't appear accurate

what hashrate do you see?

Re: mining returns. is it worth it or something is wrong?

yeah i would say an average 20-25MH. sometimes its around 10MH, sometimes its 30MH, other times its just calculating. its active though.

Re: mining returns. is it worth it or something is wrong?

so if it says "calculating" that may indicate a few things, 1 the connection the the pool was lost, 2 there is no work being performed yet, 3 we are restarting our services (any maintenance type work) and there is no "work" to be performed

at 20-25MH for a 24 hour period i would think it would be 0.0004 which would take you 10 days to reach the minimum of 0.004 ETH

Re: mining returns. is it worth it or something is wrong?

if thats the case with calculating then why is my gpu memory being utilized?

Re: mining returns. is it worth it or something is wrong?

It actually appears from that screen shot that the miner is "hung", utilization of 0% means it's not running any hashes. The memory usage does indicate that the miner tried to start. Try a restart to see what happens.

this happens quite a lot though. do i just keep restarting it? will there be a fix?

Re: mining returns. is it worth it or something is wrong?

I'm experiencing the same issue where the rate I'm accumulating has slowed down to a molasses crawl from about 9/22 onward. I had been on pace to earn .004 every 6 to 7 days.. now, I'll be lucky if I earn .004 every 30 days. I even went so far as to uninstall, clean my registry, reboot, reinstall and there appears to be no change in the mining rate. I did verify that I am on the latest engine and Ncrypt version. It has me seriously considering, if this is not still an error, if this is even viable to continue with.  Engine: 22.21.9.25 | NCrypt: 1.0.0.62

That is strange you had to earn more.

To whom it may concern, for the last month I have been up and down with Norton Crypto Mining. But now with all the updates and reinstalls every thing seems to be running great before I was averaging 20-35 hash rates sometimes I got up to 60-70 hash rates now I am averaging 90-160-556 from the picture below that I attached the amount shown is from two days of mining I had to uninstall and start all over again because my mining was not working. So far so good will see where I stand after one week.

I also want you to know it matters the type of Graphics card and system you are running I am using my gaming PC that I custom built here are my specs.

OPERATING SYSTEM: Windows 11 Pro 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core i7 9700KF @ 3.60GHz  / Coffee Lake 14nm Technology
Running temperature 91 °F

RAM: 16.0GB Dual-Channel  @ 1199MHz (17-17-17-36)

Motherboard: ASRock Z390 Pro4
Running temperature 114 °F

Storage:476GB NVMe INTEL SSDPEKNW51 (RAID (SSD))

Always remember to keep an eye on your running temperatures I run my computer next to an air conditioner.

Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 19043) (19041.vb_release.191206-1406)
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9700K CPU @ 3.60GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.6GHz |  Temp: 30°C
Graphics:  EVGA NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 2070 XC ULTRA 8GB GDDR6 | Temp: 60°C
RAM:  32.0GB ADATA 8GB DDR4-3000 XPG Z1 MEMORY(x4)
Motherboard: ASROCK Z390 PHANTOM GAMING 4-CB | Temp: 40°C

Temp is running fine, GPU memory usage is running at around 75% utilization while mining.. but sadly, I am still only earning at a fraction of what I was about 10 days ago before all of the problems started on Norton's side.

Re: mining returns. is it worth it or something is wrong?

what is the difference with respect to HR and earnings from 10 days ago to now?

Re: mining returns. is it worth it or something is wrong?

At a glance, HR seems comparable to what I would see displayed before.. fluctuating between 30 and higher. The earnings went from .004 a week to.. I'm not certain I'll hit .004 ever again. That .000696 showing is everything I have accrued since a payout on September 22, 2021 2:17:38 PM. I've even left my machine on more than normal, letting it run through nights.

Re: mining returns. is it worth it or something is wrong?

update: since i did the update last night, the UI is more responsive now. i see the hash rate actively changing. also its showing the amount in local currency (gbp) which is neat.

However, since then, mining at ~21MH/s (gtx 1660) for at least 6 hours, ive only gotten 0.000039633959 eth. something is really wrong :(

im going to shut it down for now. its a shame, i was really looking forward to mining on my personal machine.

i hope it gets fixed soon.

Re: mining returns. is it worth it or something is wrong?

I've been running the miner minimum of 50% or more of each day since before I started keeping a basic log on Sep 11th.  I can't say exactly when I stared mining, not long after getting my new system up and running; maybe the 9th. Last screenshot was at 9:21 pm last night, attached, no where near my 1st .004 much less multiples of it.  1st log entry was 8:32 pm on the 11th, 0.000051952.... Last log entry attached.  Having a log in the app would be great, at least 15 min increments if not faster rate.

Miner ran all night and this morning about 7:45 balance was the same, ZERO movement, it was mining for someone but not me!  The old problem is back, so I shut it down.  I went to bed thinking I'll hit over 0.0025, WRONG! Last weekend this happened and we were told that it was a 'display' problem and the balance would 'jump' (both quotes).  The 'jump' NEVER happened!  Lost $$ for running about 50% of the dead weekend.

My system is, AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor 3.60 GHz, 48 GB RAM, RTX 3060 12GB GPU (temp runs about 60C most of time when mining, 40C when not).  HR would be anywhere from low single digits to well over 100 a few times I saw, but mainly 10-40.  The watts on my UPS jumps almost double when mining so its costing me extra electricity as well.

Please don't say that.... but its 'free' to us. Yes, this app is free, but Norton is also making $ off of the use of our systems and our electricity costs. Its costs us money also with the fees and such that I'm hearing can amount to only getting just over 1/2 your balance after going through Coinbase.  My miner is off now, not worth the ware and tear and electricity on a single GPU system that accumulates very very slowly, when it does work.  Definitively NOT worth it when miner runs and we get ZERO in return.  I'm already in the negative $$, especially with the many hours of ZERO balance increase. Thanks anyway for trying Norton, maybe try another time down the road when this beta run is fixed and the mining pool gets an actual return on investment.  I've got to renew Norton 360 in a week of so anyway, maybe I'll try a full reload of it and try again then; we shall see.
