Mac mail will not download messages - somehow related to VPN, but don't know how to fix?

Hi, I had this same problem with MS Outlook checking my email.  I think sometimes the VPN automatically launches and connects.  Try going to the Norton Icon on the top bar on your Mac and see if the VPN is connected.  If it is connected, disconnect.  Hope this helps.
