Password import - Ubuntu

I have Password Manager installed on my Android phone, and on various browsers (the default is Brave) on the pc.

On the pc I have the export option, which is a bit pointless if it doesn't have an import option. Choices are generator, Sync, feedback, export, close.

I have read the info available, "Sign in, 3 dots, import" but it simply does not exist. Nor does it exist on Android.

Have I missed something, or is Norton just rubbish at making life easy? I don't want to log into every site using Lastpass, just for Norton to maybe collect the info. And it is maybe, as it will not collect on every occasion.

I am running Ubuntu, but any decent company would have made provision for a popular operating system

Re: Password import - Ubuntu

I added a screenshot, and described what is available to me. The options you show do not exist for me. Unfortunately it now refuses to give me the option to repeat the upload of the screenshot, telling me I can only use txt, pdf, zip.

The 3 dots are not at the bottom as consistently described, but on the top of the page. The instructions are basically useless after the words "Sign in to your account".

I have a separate button for "Settings", which has nothing of any use in it. The whole of the Norton help system on the subject seems to be aimed at those who prefer to enjoy using a particular O/S or browser, but they fail to define to whom they are writing.

Brave V1.36.122

Firefox 98.0.2

Chrome  99.0.4844.82

All on Ubuntu 21.10, checked with and without vpn

3 browsers, and no matter if you open the vault and go to the dots, or just go to the icon on the bar then the dots, there is no Import option.

Re: Password import - Ubuntu

Thanks for the post back. I have a dual boot laptop with Linux Cinnamon. As a test I will have a look at Edge and the extension in question to see whether it offers the import setting and post back with my results. I don't use Cinnamon very much of late so I am not absolutely sure I have the extension installed.

Re: Password import - Ubuntu

I checked my Linux install and found I do not use Edge on my distro but rather Opera GX for Linux. The Chrome extension for NPWM is the same as yours, version 7.5.1.8 and shows the following per my screenshot. Import is an option listed. Opera and Brave are based on basically the same Chromium architecture and should work the same.

Have you upgraded Brave to V1.37.111 (Apr 5, 2022) ? Wondering if that would make a difference with a reinstall of the PWM extension.
