Why App put me in a Infinite Login Loop?

Hi,

I just downloaded this App on my phone and when it prompts me on screen within the app to login into my Norton account, I login then after logging in I can see successful>redirecting then takes me back to the starting login screen process again within the app. Its frustrating because I can never get pass the login screen even with the correct login details and it seems like I'm stuck in this loop.

I even touched the free 7-day trial yellow button shown at the start of this app and nothing happens.

I can login on my laptop no problem. Just the problem with the app on phone.

I'm sure other Norton app users are logging in fine, Norton systems are running up and fine so yeah how do I fix this on my Samsung phone?

Cheers,

Re: Why App put me in a Infinite Login Loop?

Secure Folders does nothing more that encrypt the contents in Secure Folders and force the use of a PIN to access anything there. It does not have a VPN. I may be confusing your wanting to use the Norton Secure VPN app with the use of the 360 app.

So if you are trying to use the VPN app to protect you when using public, unsecured hot spots, I would suggest trying other VPN vendors to see if they will work with Secure Folders. At this time, Norton seems to have issues with Secure Folders.

Samsung's use of proprietary code in their devices has been the cause of many incompatibilities with apps from many developers. It is not just Norton that has issues on Samsung devices. Some issues can be resolved. But others just cannot be made to work with the changes Samsung makes to the Android OS.

If you already have a Norton 360 subscription, do not tap on the 7 day trial. That will start up a new subscription with Google, and you will have the hassle of cancelling the trial with Google so you can use your Norton subscription.

To try to fix your issue, start by clearing the app data for your 360. Go into Android Settings - Apps. Scroll to the 360 app and clear the app cache and app Data. Then uninstall 360 and restart the device. Then reinstall and try signing into your Account again.

Okay is this a common problem or is it just the problem with myself?

Lastly by default is this app suppose to use the chrome browser on the phone for opening links, redirecting, logging in etc? Or do everything within the app?

Like any mobile device or computer, a downloaded app can get muddled and require a reinstall. So it is not a common problem, but it does happen.

I see no way of determining what browser is used when logging in or trying to use help. If you look at the recent apps page when you have tried to access help or another online feature, there is no separate browser listed. Just the 360 app.

Hi I tried that clear data and clear cache in the app but issue still persists. Please advise.

After login is the app suppose to open links or redirecting me on google chrome browser app or everything is done within this norton app?

Is this sign in prompt part of the installation process?

Are you using a VPN when trying to log into your Account? If so, try turning it off and testing.

Yes straight away after downloading app and opening it, the app prompts on screen at the very start sign in or create account. I'm stuck on this screen and cant get pass this even with the correct login details.

I don't have a VPN hence I like to use this Norton Secure VPN app as my VPN.

If you have not already done so, try uninstalling 360 and then restart your device. Then reinstall 360 from the Google Play Store app and try signing in again.

Okay it works outside of Samsung Secure Folder but when I add this app to within Samsung Secure Folder the problem still persists even though I'm not running the vpn/app outside of the samsung secure folder.

Is this app compatible to work within Samsung Secure folder?

Samsung Secure Folder... I had another user with an issue with Norton App Lock in Samsung Secure Folder a few years ago. Here is the thread for some reference. See the quote from my Norton contact.   https://www.samsung.com/sg/support/mobile-devices/what-is-secure-folder-...

Looking at this Samsung Support article, it sounds like the Secure Folder is just that, Secure, and cannot be hacked.   https://www.samsung.com/sg/support/mobile-devices/what-is-secure-folder-...

Okay thanks for the 2 links however both links are exactly the same.

Sorry for the confusion with the links.

Here is the correct link for the thread with my previous experience with Secure Folders.  https://community.norton.com/en/forums/samsung-secure-folder

Cheers for the new link.

I like to kindly ask you to help me summarise what's been posted in that link or is there a highlighted solution in there? I'm having trouble following what's been said in that link. Is it Samsung Secure Folder at fault and if so what settings I change on my phone to get this issue fixed?

Re: Why App put me in a Infinite Login Loop?

Samsung Folders is not 'at fault' necessarily. It is just the way that Secure Folders operates within the Samsung version of the Android OS. As everything inside the folders is encrypted, extra security should not be necessary. And as you require a PIN to get into it, that is an extra layer of protection.

Although the thread is about the App Lock app, the last post in the thread contains a quote from my contacts that notes the proprietary nature of this feature within a proprietary Samsung version of the Android OS makes it difficult to deal with.

Re: Why App put me in a Infinite Login Loop?

When you say extra security not be necessary do you mean the Samsung secure folder already has its built in vpn?

Okay just to confirm the norton secure vpn android app is not compatible with the samsung secure folder and hence there's nothing I can do to get it to work?
