When I try to optimize my Disks, (via Norton utilities - speed up) System And external hard drive, I cannot tick either drive.

Could someone please help?

The description for each drive explains why defrag cannot be selected. The C:\ drive is an SSD, which will not get defragmented to save the write cycles available for SSD's. The E:\ drive is reporting a non NTFS formated drive, which also cannot be defraged. You need to change for formatting on that drive if you want to use the defrag feature.

Don't worry about defragging -- Windows is going to do anything really necessary.
