Free upgrade

Got an email from Norton. That said "Our Gift to You: Complimentary Upgrade* Get an upgrade today for no additional charge*. Check out your upgrade options below" when clicked it wanted me to log in. Being wary, I closed window, then logged in from another window, then clicked link. When the link opened now, me already logged in, it brought me to an empty shopping cart suggesting I continue shopping with no mention any where of my free upgrade. Anyone else get this?

Re: Free upgrade

Hello John. If the email address the message came from does not appear in the listing at the link below it is bogus.

Re: Free upgrade

I received the same offer from Norton to upgrade for free for the remainder of my subscription.

Of course if you do upgrade you will be required to enter payment info for auto renewal when the subscription expires and you will be renewed at the higher price for the increase in features. I decided against the offer.

Re: Free upgrade

i got the email last week i believe seems its for a higher renewal rate, and saw mention of the lifelock program so may have a connection to using that service? just my guess but saw mention of it not sure exactly if it is or isnt a part of the offer

Re: Free upgrade

That's no problem. You can stop the auto payment or renewal. I was just surprised they offer emails like this. They sb sending emails saying they will never send an email asking for your account info. If they want to offer something it sb done when one is already logged into an account. They are putting profit ahead of security.
