Bypass Norton Family by Changing Windows User Name

Dear Norton Team,

I have created two accounts on my daughter's laptop: One for me as "admin" and one for her as "user".

I recently realized that she has figured a way to bypass Norton Family by changing her user name in Windows. I tried to limit her changing the user name too but it was too complicated for my IT skills.

Once she changes her user name, Norton asks me every time to associate the User Name with the Child to be monitored in Parent portal.

Do you have a suggestion for this?

We recommend providing your child with 'standard user' account. This ensures your child will not be able to change the username of the account without administrator credentials.

Hi again,

The child's user is "standard" user. I checked it again.

I think the issue is due to Win11 uses "email" account as the main identifier of a user, not the "name", so user names can be changed without an issue.

Hi JoeBlack,

We would recommend using a standard local account without Microsoft email ID associated to it so that the child is restricted from changing the username of the profile. 

However we have also messaged you with instructions in private message to restrict your child from changing the username by restricting access to settings application.
