I think I was suject to SPAM when seeking support from Norton i was sent to a "senior tech " person who trurned out to belong to a Melb based techn group who tricked me into giving them access

i was tricked into giving access to a technical group who fixed my "problem" which included renewing my software and extending the period of my licence charged me $499 they were very demanding that I give them further access which I refused. but the money has gone. It seemed at the time that these people were agents of NORTON what can I do now?

I was scammed today when I attempted to renew and combine my husband’s account along with mine. Called the Norton number from online. Screen showed the various plans and agent advised me which plan I needed. I gave him too much access to my personal information as I thought I was speaking to a Norton agent. I believe he was in fact a Norton agent as the $99.99 charge went through on my credit card and my account was renewed however, money began to disappear from my bank account. Accessed my Zelle account and sent himself $1500. Attempted another $500 but bank suspected fraud and notified me. I froze all of my bank accounts and now have to go through the hassle of setting up new bank accounts and credit cards. Scariest part is he has all of my personal information. This is certainly an inside job so beware if you choose Norton. Never again for me!

Does "Melb based techn group" mean Melbourne, Australia?

Called the Norton number from online. 

When you do a search for Norton support the first links are almost always never genuine Norton Support. At best they are service companies that help with all makes of software. At worst, as you found, they are scammers who are just trying to get your banking info so they can make further withdrawals.

You should always start at www.norton.com to look for genuine Norton Support.
