17.0.0.136: Norton LiveUpdate "Failed to Check for Some Updates" Error

Hi, Everyone,

Every once-in-a-while, I keep getting...

Module: 8921

Error: 301

...on Norton LiveUpdate, and states that it "Failed to Check for some Updates".  Have symantec been having Sever Issues, or is it my Norton Internet Security 2010 Product?

If anyone else has been experiencing this, then please Post a Message here.  Thanks.

Windows X.P.; Service Pack 03

FR,

When did it occur previously? Are you seeing it way too often?

Thanks,

I've only seen it one time - when I ran a manual LiveUpdate - and, unfortunately, I don't recall which update failed. Running LU again did correctly download the update though.

I think that was after initial installation of 2010, the antispam update would fail first time around but be OK the next time.

I do recall what you are referring to because it was an issue during the Beta, but this occurrence was sometime around the 3rd day after the final version installation, so I'm pretty sure it wasn't that same problem. This was actually a "Check For Updates" that failed. I'm thinking it was an antiphishing update, but I might be wrong there.

Hi, Tom,

I last saw it on - roughly - Saturday, September 12, 2009.  And this is currently happening once-or-twice every three or four days at the moment.
