See attached png file for screenshot. Starting 2023-11-15 - Norton 360 Software Updater can't update Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 redistributable to version 14.29.30153.0. I have a Dell Inspiron, Win 11. 64 bit PC.

the software updater has its flaws
i would trust windows update more
you can view your current version in program list
possible to find it ( not 100% sure if it will) on your update installed list ( windows update installed updates)

Solution: DON'T use Software Updater. It is NOT a mature product in its current form. Users have reported systems not booting after running SU. Allow Microsoft update to push your Windows updates, it will determine whether your system requires files and automatically present them for you. These are the current versions on my system, MS isn't offering any updates for them:

software updater can take somthing not all like driver updater can take somthing and windows update can take somthing they are not perfekt to all software updater can se somthing but not all and thats how it is but software update is a good produck but it can just not see all and that how it is and if you is yousing driver updater just remember not update all like motherborth it is the must risky files on the computer but not all on the motherborth is problematich just the must risky like windows hardisk and the must sensetive drive ther is problematch and can crash the computer sound net ect no problem but the must sensetive ther you need a backup

I installed the updates manually (from the MS site as mentioned by bjm_ above). Install worked fine and the Software Updater is happy with the version. But it seems to have now broken Norton Utilities Ultimate. That add-on now crashes when I try loading it, either directly from my Start Menu or from inside Norton 360. Anyone else see that now? Utilities Ultimate could be written using MS Visual C++ and this redistributable update has now broken their compiled version.
I might try a system restore to get this C++ redistributable back to its old version and check if that lets Utilities Ultimate start working again.

ssadars7:Well, damn it, my Utilities Ultimate isn't working either. When I try to start it, a screen flashes up and then disappears . . .

@ bjm_: Yes I did. I uninstalled the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 redistributable update and restarted - still had the problem with Norton Utilities Ultimate. I gave up and turned off my computer and went to bed after reading a good book. This morning, I restarted my computer and all is well !! Norton Utilities Ultimate ran just fine.

Like @ssadars7 this morning my Norton Utilities Ultimate is back working fine! I didn't even restart my computer, only put it to sleep. Very strange behaviour considering, as far as I know, it's still running the same version of Utilities Ultimate, though I didn't check yesterday. Today it reports version 21.4.7.637. I did start it from the menu selection inside Norton 360 and seemed to take longer to open so perhaps it has pulled in an update, but I can't really say.
Re-ran the Software Updater and it's still happy with my manual update of MS Visual C++ Redistributable 2015-2022

Norton Utilities Ultimate dont get a update before the 23 is finish so no update the problem just fix itself and you can not just get to 23 you need to buy a new key ore ask norton nice to get upgratet to 23 and that is not somthing you justs do becurse they has to say ok to get the new key they has to ask mininum 3 to 4 leader if you is lukey and if you buy to go to 23 you dont get them mix toghether like befor you has to ask nice i got it nice but it is not easy but you get ther soon 23.3 is almost don 80 to 90% so just wait
