22.7.0.76 problem on Vista

Since the upgrade to 22.7.0.75, and now, .76, NIS is telling me that my PC is not protected by SONAR advanced protection in the main Norton window.  When I go to the advanced settings icon, the slider for auto-protect is green (on) and the slider for SONAR is gray (but also in the on position).  What's the deal?

If I'm on my admin account, I get the option to fix the problem on the main Norton window, but when it tries to fix it, it comes back with "not fixed."

In the Windows Security Center it tells me that everything is running fine.  Live Update works, I can run complete scans, but why do I get the dreaded red X about the SONAR thing?   I'm running Vista with all the current updates as of May 2016 (haven't been able to get this months updates, possibly because of the new Norton update as well).  It seems like since the start of the year, Norton has become increasingly problematic for me.  Are they phasing out Vista support or what?

Another issue:  Since the 22.7.0.75 update (and continuing into .76) Live Update has not downloaded any new virus definitions.  It has downloaded Web Protection defs, safe web defs, etc. etc., but not virus defs.  Unless things start getting fixed, and soon, I won't be renewing my Norton sub, which sucks because I've always had good luck with Norton.

That is not an issue. With update 22.7 there won't be virus defs anymore but SDS Defs as mentioned in Norton 22.7 Product Update available now   - "What's New"

I also received Virus Defs (and some SDS Defs as well) before Norton update to v 22.7 and since then the Virus Definitions folder is empty, and I'm receiving SDS Defs only.. If you also are receiving SDS Defs, then that's is how it has to be now.

Re: 22.7.0.76 problem on Vista

Thanks Rainbow and Davey for the help.  Good to know :)

I'm still having the problem with Norton telling me that I'm at risk because I'm not protected by SONAR, even though in the Norton Advanced Settings popup it tells me that autoprotect and SONAR are both on.  Not even sure how much SONAR does or if I should care, but that red X is unnerving.  Still able to live udpate and scan completely though, so I guess I am better off than some.

Re: 22.7.0.76 problem on Vista

I had a private message from norton with a request for logs, involving a ridiculous process to give them info.

At some point in the next few days they will remove the 76 update from the live update and say nothing more than they are working on it.

They know 76 has big issues with it, even worse than 75.

I did think norton had affected my windows update too as it all happened at the same time, but that update i posted fixed my update problems in minutes on vista and on the windows 7 version of it too.

Re: 22.7.0.76 problem on Vista

OK, so here is a screen shot of what I am dealing with.  Conflicting information, right?  Also, today, started with the red X, but then went green, everything was cool.  Then in the middle of live update, went red again, got the 3039, 65569(??) error about internet connectivity, then everything froze up and I had to do a hard restart.  After restart, back to the regular old red x.

I've been getting the same Sonar Red X. Is there a way to six this?
