Ability to choose logon in Identity Safe

Identity Safe is part of my Norton 360 program.

When I go to a site where I have multiple logons, Identity Safe shows me I have multiple logons for the site but the program refuses to allow me to choose which logon to use.

I use Firefox ver #39, IE, and Chrome & I get the same problem in each browser.

What is the problem, and how and when is it to be resolved? I need this feature to work correctly.

Thanks.

B1.

Re: Ability to choose logon in Identity Safe

To clarify -

When you visit the multi-login websites, the IDSafe multi-login selection bar appears, but it cannot be used to select the desired login (by clicking the available logins counter for the site)?

Hi John,

Got me curious what version of which Norton product are you showing above?

My NSBU v22.5.2.15 on Win 7 with FF39 still displays the email options for the various logins.  I know the user stated N 360 - so that may be why?

Re: Ability to choose logon in Identity Safe

G'day Yank!

Mine will show the login selections (drop-down list) too - but only after I click the logins counter button...

I too am on NSwB v22.5.2.15, and my FF NTB is currently at v2015.5.2.16.

FWIW, This is the multi-login NTB behavior I've always gotten with all versions and all browser implementations of the NTBs (since the IDSafe applet was implemented).

Cheers!
John

Edit:  Afterthought --- If your login pick list pops up on its own without having to click the login counter button, it may be due to a difference between how you and I have our logins configured (in IDSafe) for our multi-login websites.  For one thing, I never enable any of the IDSafe login options on any multi-site logins...

Re: Ability to choose logon in Identity Safe

I'm not going to mess with my settings at this time - I have both of my multiple log-ins set on Auto-fill and Auto-Submit and now you have me curious if those settings could impact your Settings in any other way - like your Prompt me to open my vault situation??

<EDIT> DUH - probably not since it was more than just your multiple logins that would not prompt to open.

AVJohnnie: I'm using version 22.5.2.15. When I come to a site that has multiple logons, the multiple sites bar shows up at the top of the screen showing how many different logons I have for that site. When I click on the number it does nothing.. What am I doing wrong.

Yup...

BTW, I've found that better than 99% of the time, when the Open Vault auto-prompt fails to show, just clicking within either of the of the webpage's login fields will cause the Open Vault bar to come up...  FWIW, (me thinks ) This alteration in auto-prompting behaviors began about the same time as the form-filler's requirement to first click within one of the web-form fields before it would come up and fill the rest of the web-form...

Hi B1,

You're doing nothing wrong -
Clicking on the login count button should open the drop-down with your list of login options (if the list isn't already auto-opening)...

Have you checked you Chrome extensions & FF plugins to verify that you have also received the latest updated Norton Toolbar plugins/extensions and (with Chrome) latest IDSafe extension? As of the moment, the current FF Toolbar is v2015.5.2.16 - the current Chrome Toolbar is v15.5.0.119, and the current Norton IDSafe for Chrome is v1.0.5.  If they have not not yet auto-updated in Chrome to these versions, select Developer mode (on the Chrome extensions page), then click the "Update extensions now" button.

I suppose there could be a conflicting plugin/Extension causing this - but since you report having this problem on all your browsers, it would have to be a plugin/extension that you've installed on all your different web browsers... Eliminating, that possibility leaves the issue (assuming it is a conflict issue) as likely being a conflict with another installed Windows program / application...

Finally, if this is a recent development that only showed up after you received the latest Norton product update (aka, the newest engine) - then you might want to consider trying a reinstall of your Norton product... The easiest way to accomplish this is via the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool.  If you'd like to give that a go, the tool (which automates the entire process,) is available at...
