Activity log - I am horrified!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have noticed quite recently that my activity logs are only available for previous 7 days. So I checked this forum first and I was absolutely dumbfounded to read "With the free basic version of Norton Online Family you can view the activity history only for last 7 days. Norton Online Family Premier (Subscription based service) offers activity history upto 90 days." 

That in itself shouldn't be a big problem you'd have thought but here's my problem - AT NO POINT DID ANYONE FROM NORTON INFORM ME THAT THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN!!!!  In fact quite the opposite - a symantec employee known as YG ( Senior product manager no less!!!) stated in this forum the following - 

Tywin7:  Please let me introduce myself to you. I'm the Sr. Product Manager responsible for NOF. I saw your post and wanted to follow up with you about your question.

 

The Norton Online Family that you use today is a free service and will remain free. We currently do not have any plans to charge for the features that you're using today. In the future, we do plan on offering a for-pay version of NOF that has additional features but we will not remove or discontinue the NOF service that you have and use today. It will remain a free service. 

I especially like the part where he states - We currently do not have any plans to charge for the features that you're using today.

Well clearly they do as my activity log has been cut back to 7 days and i will have to pay for up to 90 days. In my book that is charging for a feature i already have!!!!!!!!!

I especially like this bit ****Norton Online Family Premier is available only in the United States.**** and you wonder why american software companies get such a hard time?

I now realise why all the suggestions that have been given by members of this forum have taken so long to implement - so you can charge for them!! Good, descent and intelligent people have given up their time in something they believed would benefit them and others and how do you treat them?? I am absolutely disgusted especially since I have recommended this program to so many people - how embarrassing!

hmm so let me see if i got this right, you are complaining that the firewall you are using FOR FREE does not have the same features as the firewall I pay for? why should you get the same features for free that others (including myself) pay good money for? I mean really then what incentive would people have to buy their product? and if no one buys the product they go out of business and you lose your "free firewall" anyway. By the way, go see if any other "free firewall" gives you all the same features for free that it would give you if you are a paying customer.

I don't know if we are talking about the samething here as I am referring to Norton online family and not a firewall. I have endorsed this software from it's early day as have a lot of others giving their time and ideas to make this the best on the market and something we all want to pay for. The problem with most software is it is designed by people who don't use it and so you end up paying for features that are pointless and not getting what you need.

Myself and others want a product that works are quite willing to pay for. As for myself I can't even pay for it as it is not available outside the US so I have no options.
