Why can't I install/update Adobe Flash Player since changing to "Norton Security"? I keep getting a message stating that it is not safe and has been removed.
Welcome to the Norton Community
I have Norton Security and I can update my Adobe Flash Player. Where are you trying to get the updates from? What version are you on now? What browser are you using and what operating system and sp?
Hi. Try installing direct from www.adobe.com Be careful when installing that you avoid the bundled software unless you want it, of course.
Downloading/installing Flash from the Official Adobe Download page will by default also download and install some type of Mcaffee Security Product. Perhaps, because it might be an incompatible security product is the reason the package is "Unsafe". Make certain to uncheck the Mcaffee Product when you download/install Flash.
To avoid problems updating Adobe Flash Player, allow it to update automatically. I usually don't like automatic updates, but I found with the flash player, it made life easier----computer life any way.... I also found out that you get the updates quicker that way which is unusual...
Hi, Flo. That's what I do,now. We can always revert to a previous version, if the auto update gives problems.
Now that we have the opportunity to have FP auto-updated, it is worth do so.
Addons are skipped in this way.
I believe the opportunity has been there for a long time, and I remember I used to change it to I would update it. I would always find the new update before Flash Player said there was an update.. I don't like auto-updates for most things, but for Flash Player it seems to be ok so far.
