After coming out of Hibernation Norton still thinks Laptop is still Idle

I posted earlier that Norton performs an full idle scan when I am am using my computer. I found that Norton does not detect that the Laptop is in use after waking from Hibernation and that is why it does a full idle scan when the Laptop is not idle. Any ideas why this happens or is it a bug. p.s. I use hibernation because I use the laptop a lot on battery

power.

Interesting Mike. What version on Norton do you use.

I use NAV 2009 16.8.0.41 on Vista sp2. I have to refine my question because it only happens if I am using my laptop on battery power i.e. if I initiate hibernation while on battery power and then wake it up (plugged in on AC), Norton does not recognize that the computer is in use. If I look at the CPU usage it says that my computer is still idle. To get Norton to recognize that I am using my laptop I have to change the idle timeout to a different time. Hope this helps. Thanks

Hello mike852

You can keep the idle timeout at a short period of time. I keep mine at 1 min. and this way what ever has to get done in the background gets done more quickly without having to wait for a long time for the computer to be idle.

Success always occurs in private and failure in full view. Windows 10 Pro 64 bit 1903 Norton Core Security Plus 22.19.9.63 Core Firmware 288 Android App 2.22 Chrome latest version.

I have tried that but it does not fix the problem. Thanks for the tip.

That definitely is an interesting issue. I would definitely try updating to the latest version before trying anything else. If it was a known problem with an older version it should be fixed in a newer version.

Let us know if this fixes the problem.

I never up-graded to 2010, but my system has somehow started to work normally now.
