Alerts for cateories NOT blocked

We have begun receiving email alerts on categories we do NOT have blocked in our "House Rules.  A sample of that notification is below:

-------------

Emma was given a warning when Emma attempted to visit the following Website(s) that belong to the blocked Website categories:

For more details, sign in to the Norton Family website or Norton Family mobile app and click or tap Alerts.
-------------

We do NOT have the "Shopping" category configured to be blocked.  The only categories we have configured are:

Drugs
Gambling
Mature Content
Online Chat
Personals
Pornography
Suicide
Web Proxies

Why was Emma warned about visiting victoriasercret.com?

Re: Alerts for cateories NOT blocked

So, come to find out...

victoriasercret.com belongs to TWO categories; Shopping AND Mature Content.  However, the email only lists "Shopping".  If it had said:

victoriassecret.com (link is external) (Category: Shopping, Mature Content)

It would have been obvious what the issue was.  Support couldn't even determine what was wrong, we just stumbled upon this dual category matter in the logs.

Re: Alerts for cateories NOT blocked

Thanks for the update.  I'll check with the team to see how they display categories of a forbidden website on a block page and make change if it's needed.

Thanks

Katie

Re: Alerts for cateories NOT blocked

Hi TheWraith,

The current version picks the first category from the categorization list that the website belongs to and shows it.   The engineering team will change it and show exact category on which the URL got blocked in a future Norton Family release.

Thanks

Katie

Thanks Katie
