Re: Andriod Norton Security

Hi sam20e.

Welcome to the community.

Norton Mobile Security came out of Beta some time ago.  It is now an established commercial product, though you can get the "Lite" version off the Android Market for free.  This gives you much of the protection at no cost.

So while I am not aware of anyone noting a serious battery drain from the use of NMS why not download and install the "Lite" version, see if it works to your satisfaction and then if you fancy upgrading, pay for the full version.  On the other hand if you do not like what you see you can just uninstall.

In fact with Norton's excellent refunds policy you can buy the full version and try that for (I think it is)  up to 60 days and still get a full refund.  So it all seems a fairly risk free business.

I would add that if you are looking for an Android security app then I think you should be happy with NMS, with the one proviso - that you want to use it on a smart phone.  If you want to use it on a tablet device then go for Norton Tablet Security which takes account of the differences between the two platforms.

I hope that helps Sam.  If you have any further questions please feel free to come back.

Re: Andriod Norton Security

I don't use Android mobile firefox myself but I am also not aware of anyone else reporting any problems with it Sam.

I suggest you try it and see what you think.  It is easy enough to uninstall if you don't like it.  I think you will find it a bit different from the main PC type versions you are probably used to, which reduces the risk of it not being compatible with something like Android mobile firefox.

If you do try it you might like to come back and report how you find it, and if it is OK with firefox.

Good luck.

Re: Andriod Norton Security

I installed and i simply loved it. so i purchsed 1 year subs also. the only draw back is web protection supports only default browser.

Re: Andriod Norton Security

Delighted that you are pleased with it sam20e.

And yes I now see that it says is for Android browser only.  Maybe that is why no one has complained.  My mistake - sorry if I misled you.

But I am glad that despite this you still seem pleased.  Thank you for adding to my education.
