Android app : easy to add blocked website. But cannot remove it.

Hi guys. I just administrate my Norton Core with this. Well. Thing who is mandatory : the mobile application. Thing is. I put a lot of website on my personal blacklist thing. And when I wanted to remove it... It was just impossible. I remove it. Close the menu. Go back. And the website is still here. Hopefully I have a iPhone and the app seem to work as expected and I was able to remove/add website easily. But the Android application seem to be in a beta state today (I have one icon left on the left panel. For exemple. And sometime the notification aren't here) Do you have some improvement coming in ? I used a OnePlus5 in Android 8.0 with the last update. No root. Thanks !

Well. That's kind of a huge thing for this. Doesn't it ? Why does it work perfectly with my iPhone and I'm allowed to add and remove website. And it's not with my Android ? Doing a factory reset on the Norton Core is like saying "my arm hurt" and getting the answers "kill your mom. Maybe it will fix it". The issue is on the Android app. Not the Norton Core. I can agree with you if it didn't work with iOS as well. But it does. The fact is. iOS is my work smartphone so I didn't want to use it for administrate the NC.

Elurztac Unfortunately, until the development team at Norton decides that the basics of the app having the ability to function across ALL the supported platforms we are stuck with the "workarounds". Fortunately for me my kids are grown and married so we don't have to use the restrictions portion of the Core settings. That being said I'm not afraid to test the theorem and post the results from my Android app.

Cheers

Re: Android app : easy to add blocked website. But cannot remove it.

Update: I created a user and named it "Test", assigned it a PC which I am working on. Turned on parental controls and added http:// www . hack . com as a "blocked" website. Saved all the settings. Returned to the test profile and attempted to remove the site added to the blocked list, no joy!! I then attempted to backspace the name of the URL out then save. Changes cannot be saved notification popped up. The only way to remove the blocked site was to remove the Test profile by swiping right to left and it disappeared. Totally unacceptable way to have to fix this. I don't have an iPhone to test though.

Try turning off the parental controls and then delete the website and then turn it back.  I think this worked for me once when I couldn't delete the website.

MannyT, I tried that as well. Disabling parental controls also disables access to the blocked websites listing on the current Android app.

Happy to give you new bugs :))

Do you have the same issue about the interface ?

I don't get the logo for the "Security" menu, on the left.

Re: Android app : easy to add blocked website. But cannot remove it.

@SoulAsylum  in the IOS it doesn't block access to Allowed/Blocked websites.  I was able to delete the websites by disabling the parental controls button deleting the website and immediately turning the parental controls back on, if not the websites returned.  Buggy.

@Elurztac that bug in the Android app has been reported by several users including SoulAsylum
