Re: annoying security request

Hi, Have you tried rebooting? It seems that there was an infection which was hard to remove while system is working. If rebooting didnt work, please check your Norton product's security history [ rightclick on Norton icon on tray notification area > security history > select ' unresolved security risks ' from the drop down list next to 'show' ] . What do you see? Report back it, along with your operating system name, Norton product [ Norton product main gui > support > about ]

Re: annoying security request

Hi, Sorry for the trouble. Most of the community members here are users like you not employees. With a single or two line explanation, its difficult to tell whats the underlying problem and how to solve it. ( If you consult a doctor for cure, you would tell almost all details related to your problem, dont you? ) If you need to keep the popup down, simply enable 'silent mode' by rightclicking the Norton product icon from tray notification area. That would do the job. But if there is any problem such as unsolved infection or corruption of the product, you wont find it untill things become worse. I am sorry to tell that not providing enough information cannot help me / us to help you. May be you can wait for others to have a more accurate reply if you are not satisfied.

Re: annoying security request

What program is displaying the message to reboot?  Does give a reason for the request?

Re: annoying security request

there is only one norton security request and that silent mode is only for six hours so it should be able to do it for ever .Why the hell cant norton do a patch for this plus disable quick scan?Cant they be bothered?

Re: annoying security request

Is there some reason you cannot just reboot to get rid of the notifications? You can disable all notifications from Norton, but then how would you know if there is something that you need to be aware of.

BTW Coming on like a German shepherd is not the best way to request help from volunteer users. We try to help where we can, but as we cannot see your computer, we have to ask questions that may seem unnecessary to you.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.
