An anti-virus/security SW is supposed to RUN IN THE BACKGROUND!

This autumn I will stop having NORTON on my computers. This was it after a long time. - Was it 10 years or even 20? Say thanks to your marketing department for this, that thinks that it is a smart idea to permanently come up with pop-ups.
The silent mode is only for 1 day max. The backup is set on "automatic", and yet NORTON pops up and tells me that I didn't execute a backup for a long time, it keeps asking me to install this and that and to activate this and that, and that without any chance to say "Never ask me again", and it comes up with reports stating that verything is fine and has been dealt with, and "oh - you can protect many more devices with your license, and so on, and so on ... - See the tagging of this comment for further details about unwanted messages.
If I have an issue with something I do not want (like being unable to update another SW and suspect that NORTON blocked it), I will open NORTON and have a look at it all by my own decision.
And I look at the community and find MANY more people who think the same way about this glorious idea from the marketing department. The threads are closed or "solved" without the software being updated with switch to completely silence NORTON.
This is no way to deal with customers!
