AntiTrack Causes Instability

Since I installed AntiTrack a week or so ago, most applications are slow and/or unstable.  Norton 360 is unresponsive, Outlook often will not send or receive, file explorer is super slow, attempt to install tax software made things worse, etc.  I will most likely just uninstall AntiTrack, but I'm wondering if there is a way to turn it off temporarily.  Also wondering if there is a way to turn off 360 temporarily.  I was going to post this as a reply to another thread, but I just joined and haven't figured out how to do that.

I turned off AntiTrack and that stabilized things.  My hard drive is still working close to 100% most of the time though so things are running a bit slow.  When Norton was free with Comcast, it worked great.  Now that I'm paying extra for it, it seems to be causing problems.  I may get rid of it and go with the AV that Comcast offered.

Re: AntiTrack Causes Instability

After having horrific system issues, after installing Norton Anti-Track (it essentially crashed my system and I had to restore from an image backup, as Anti-Track refused to uninstall and started undermining other programs), I installed the 'free' version of TotalAV, and then purchased it (the 'free' version does not give you 'real-time' protection, which made it useless for me).  I then started having 'problems' with my system.  I tried to un-install it and like Anti-Track, it would not un-install.  I had to restore from my image backup again.

Re: AntiTrack Causes Instability

It took a few days, but after I uninstalled anti track, my HD activity calmed down to normal.  Not sure why it didn't calm down right away.  I was also able to install the tax software.  So I'll keep the 360, but I won't install anti track again.
