"AntiVirus Auto-Protect could not load the kernel extension."

I am running Norton AntiVirus 12.7 on Mac OS 10.8.5.

I receive the following error: "AntiVirus Auto-Protect could not load the kernel extension." I have run LiveUpdate and reinstalled Norton AntiVirus and restarted as instructed.

I continue to receive the error message, and Virus Protection is disabled.

I have the same problem.  Started this morning.  I saw another post that had a link for the software (I have no idea where the CD is for my version).  Downloaded the Mac software.  Reinstalled.  Restarted.  Still doesn't work.  Same issue.

I am having the exact same issue. Started on the 11th. I did the live update and reinstalled Norton antivirus and it did not help, I am using Norton 360 Multi device on an iMac running OSX 10.8.5.

It looks like there was an update released yesterday. After uninstalling, restarting, reinstalling, updating, and restarting AGAIN I'm up and running.
