App and Browser Control - actions recommended

I am running Norton Security Suite (thanks to Comcast).

In my "hidden icons tray (don't know what it's called)", I have the little shield icon with an exclamation point in a yellow triangle.  When I open "Windows Defender Notification Center" (I know -- I'm not running Defender), under "Apps and browser control", it says, "Check apps and files is off.  Your device may be vulnerable."

Is that something I need to worry about, or is Norton Security Suite taking care of that?  Under Norton Security Suite, all the categories have a green check mark except for "Backup", which is turned off -- I am using Acronis to image my HD on an external HD, and I back up important files on a thumb drive.

Re: App and Browser Control - actions recommended

Thanks for that info littlepeaks. On your keyboard press ctrl+alt+del and open. Select "Task Manager" then open it. Once opened navigate to the "startup" tab then scroll through the listing and find "Windows Defender notification icon" in the list. Set it to disabled, then reboot. The icon for WD will no longer appear in your system tray. Norton is running and doing what it was designed to do. Creators Update unfortunately will not allow us to disable WD in the system services. Cheers!!
