The day before I will use Macrium Reflex Free to make an image of my 3 systems.

Then let the update begin. If it breaks It will take me only 15 min to restore a system.

Then I will download the ISO for the new version of W10 and do a clean install.

Get the Free version here:

2 Questions...

It says "is fully compatible" and not "will be". The Anniversary Edition to my knowledge is not in its final build, so it seems like a bold claim. I'm sure it is going to work, but, I would think it likely another update could be needed.

That said, if they are claiming it is fully compatible, is it compatible with the Insider builds? If it's not then it's not, but is it?

Jim

Thanks for dealing with the enquiry and I hope your Permalink includes reinstalling Norton Security on your clean installation of W10.

I shall almost certainly be doing the same and using Macrium Reflect again. I see they updated on 30 June 2016 to ....1316

Definitely will install Norton Security on clean install and have a fresh copy of IDDStor2.dat to restore my Local Vault.

I hope Norton will have an extension ready for Edge as it will support extensions with this release.

Two of my systems run W10 Pro and in Updates - Advanced Options I have checked Defer Upgrades which should allow me to select when I do the upgrade. My laptop has W10 Home and does not have that option so it will get upgraded first.

It's a shame Microsoft did not overlap the free upgrade with the newer release so as not to have to upgrade to an about to be out of date version and then upgrade that ....
