Autofill for Bank Sites

I was just told by Norton support that Norton Security autofill feature shouldn't be expected to work for bank sites as their website have an additional security arrangement that prevent the autofill to work. Can any of Norton associates, if they monitor this forum, confirm it? Should the users give up on the feature?

My specific issue is Schwab.com. The feature used to work perfectly there, but stopped working recently after the website was updated. Note that I updated URL address of the site as well in the vault to match them.

Thank you.

Do not enable any application features that would automatically log you in to your Schwab account or pre-fill the Login ID or Password fields.

Thank you for the link, but the related statement there is simply advising to not use the feature, It doesn't say the feature would be disabled by the website itself.

Re: Autofill for Bank Sites

Schwab seems to suggest not to employ auto-fill > auto-submit.
Call Schwab, ask why....ask regarding "the feature would be disabled by the website itself".
I'm not auto-fill > auto-submit user.  Lets hear from Community auto users.

Re: Autofill for Bank Sites

I called Schwab tech support. They denied that they did anything in their website update to prevent the feature from working.

BTW, Schwab's suggestion to not use autofill might be related to browsers, not to special security software, as the tech support person first understood me that I am using the feature in my browser. The autofill of Norton is a great time saver, for me at least.  I also have to point out to Norton that the feature doesn't work for this website as well https://www.huntington.com/

I reported both of the websites as an issue to Norton using the link they advise. Hopefully, I will get a clear response.

Report site(s) through Norton Feedback for ID Safe.

Just checked Huntington.com. The feature is working now there. Not sure why. I did clear browsing data just moment ago, per Schwab advise.

Norton Identity Safe is a password manager.   How and Where you use passwords is more important than How and Where you store passwords.

We are using PWs everywhere. Now, about How.

If you are suggesting to not use that feature at all, can you explain in simple terms why? Specifically, while using Norton software.

Thank you.

FWIW ~ On a compromised machine.  On a compromised website.  My passwords are safer stored in my left pocket than stored in open, in use Norton password manager.   Nothing can prevent targeted malware stealing your data which is why you must be vigilant about security.  IMHO ~ YMMV

Any form of browser integration can create security holes.

Thank you for the information. I also discovered that:

FWIW - for what it's worth

IMHO  - in my humble opinion

YMMV - Your Mileage May Vary.

I did reported my issues with autofill via Norton Feedback. But now, after reading your links, I don't see much benefits in using Norton Security at all. Is my conclusion prudent?

Hmm, loaded question.   Lets ask Community.   I'm not auto-fill > auto-submit user.  Lets hear from Norton password manager users -- auto users.
