Norton Utilities 16 1-Click Optimization Meter Still Can’t Get To the Green Section When the SSD Is the System Disk: Years Later, Still Not Solved - Should Take Any Competent; Computer Programmer/Software Engineer Less Than 10 Min To Solve! Just convert the following into the relevant computer programming language and insert it into the next Norton Utilities 16 update: 1: Set the 1-click Optimization’s display to maximum (green) 2: If the System’s drive is an SSD then go to 4. 3: This section will deal with the System’s Disk that is HDD it will  obviously change the 1-click Optimization for the HDD 4: Display the correct information about 1-click Optimization whether the system’s disk is an; SSD or HDD – That simple – should actually and literally take seconds, that simple! This raises questions what is the quality of Norton's Computer; Programmers or Software Engineers because it appears that the standard is far too low?

Norton Utilities 16 hasn't really had any updates since before Windows 10 was released and I wouldn't expect any now either because there is a new subscription based product  -  https://au.norton.com/norton-utilities

It says a lot about Symantec can't be trusted to provide proper updates for products!

Take user's money and ripped them off!

Thought that Norton's products couldn't be trusted - The reason why don't use Norton's anti-virus software after years of usage!

Now, use Bitdefender antivirus security software.

It says a lot when an anti-virus company as Symantec making Norton can't be trusted to create proper updates for years!

Especially, when years ago promised to do so.

Worst, when it should have only taken seconds or probably less than 5 mins or so to properly implement!

Especially, when I supplied the solution!

Just convert the following into the relevant computer programming language and insert it into the next Norton Utilities 16 update:

1: Set the 1-click Optimization’s display to maximum (green)

2: If the System’s drive is an SSD then go to 4:

3: This section will deal with the System’s Disk that is HDD it will obviously change the 1-click Optimization for the HDD

4: Display the correct information about 1-click Optimization whether the system’s disk is an; SSD or HDD

– That simple – should actually and literally take seconds, that simple!

Norton utilities was originally produced for earlier versions of Windows. When Win 10 was introduced, the product was already many years old. The changes introduced in Win 10 were never coded for in NU. There is nothing that forces developers to develop and continue to update for a new OS version. Norton would install and run on Win 10, but was never updated specifically for it. And where did you see that there was a promise to update for Win 10?

If you are experienced in programming, you know it is not a 5 minute fix for any software issue. First the offending code needs to be found. Then analysed to see what needs to be changed, and how to do it. Then it has to be ensured that that change to the code does not affect any other code in the software. And then the changes to the software code has to be validated to run on millions of combinations of software and hardware to ensure that the fix for you does not block everyone else.

Just convert the following into the relevant computer programming language and insert it into the next Norton Utilities 16 update:

As Krusty13 noted above, NU 16 has been replaced by the new subscription based Norton Utilities. So it has nothing to do with the abilities of anyone. Just the marketing decision move to the newer product.

   Is there any difference between Norton Utilities 16 and the newer subscription version, other than the newer version is subscription based?

Hi Patrick,

Yeah, it's a very different animal.  No registry clean-up for example.  Your best bet might be to download a trial.

This version seems to be nothing more than a re-badged Iolo System Mechanic.  And System Mechanic does have a registry clean-up.  And it costs much less too.
