backing up files ?

if i do need to reformat for some reason...and there is virus in my computer...and i back up the file into a disc or something..will the virus detects that i m backing up and " jumps " into the disc ?

No; however, if there is a Virus on your computer, then you will back that up so, even when your re-format, it will be pointless because you will re-store the Virus.

Even if your system is damaged by viruses, you should at least scan the files you need to backup. Scan the new CD/DVD again, to be sure it's "clean". Your new disk should not be infected. I've never heard of viruses that infect files while burning a CD.
