Backup location problem

The latest Windows 10 updates has further partitioned my hard drive, into C, D & E. One of my backup sets is sent to a DVD. I can no longer select the DVD drive as the location for my backup. The only options are online, C, D or E. Refreshing does not make any difference. How do I change one of the locations shown in the available list, so that I can backup to a DVD?

Re: Backup location problem

See here https://community.norton.com/en/blogs/product-update-announcements/norto... at "feature changes".

The option to backup on CD/DVDs was removed as obsolete. You can still restore from optical media though.

Thanks tzon89. Not particularly happy with this change. Guess I'll have to rely on other than Nortons for backing up my data.

Re: Backup location problem

You may actually try the default Windows tool. I don't think that "File history" works with DVDs but the older backup program ("Backup & Restore" for Windows 7) definitely does and it is still present on Windows 10.

Funny though that in this new post https://community.norton.com/en/blogs/norton-protection-blog/importance-... Symantec's own employees mention that "Your most important data, such as family photos, bank records and the like, can be backed up to storage DVDs. While this isn’t a practical backup solution for everything on your hard drive, it's a great idea for the data you treasure most." She probably hadn't noticed the method being dropped off support.

Thanks, tzon89, I'll check out the Win10 options.

I had noticed that post you've quoted. Obviously needs updating!
