Bandwidth Limitation by Device

I've tried searching and have not yet found anything on this but apologies if I've missed it and if so, please redirect me to an answer.

My Linksys had the capability to set bandwidth limitations / throttle by device.  For instance if I have a particular device used by a family member that is using a ton of bandwidth, whether for household sharing of bandwidth or to contain a monthly usage in regards to caps.....I could set the router to limit that device to a bandwidth limitation of up to 3Mbps or whatever have you......If they are heavy user because of Netflix, let's say, it works great as then Netflix adapts to a 3mbps max, the rest of the house has plenty of bandwidth to spare. Or if it's a kid doing who knows what all day long online, they don't destroy your monthly cap.  The heavy Netflix users for the same reason re: cap.  Comes in handy for lots of reasons.

I don't believe I see this functionality in the Core?  If it has it, please tell me where.  If it's not, I would LOVE for this to be a feature.  The Core App is so user friendly it would seem perfect to just pick the device by its name and set a bandwidth limitation for that particular device.

Thanks!

Re: Bandwidth Limitation by Device

You can set one device to have temporary network priority.  The setting is in the Network tab of the Norton Core app.  Nothing more advanced than that, I'm afraid.

Re: Bandwidth Limitation by Device

Hello X_Code_X

Perhaps you can ,by limiting the amount of time a person is allowed on the net, be used to limit the bandwidth used also.. Perhaps the People functionality can be used for the limitation of bandwidth by some people's device.. People is one of the listings. Perhaps this can be used until there is a bandwidth limitation.

Please lets remember that the Core is in it's infancy  Your ideas can perhaps be added on in a future App if this functionality is missing at the current time. I'm pretty sure that Norton is looking over these posts and threads for ways that the Core can be improved in the future as well as fixing what is already in the Core,.

Have a good night and thanks for posting..

Re: Bandwidth Limitation by Device

Is there an official place designated for submitting suggestions to Norton, such as this?  Or is this it?  Thanks!

Hi @X_Code_X- Norton employees read all of the posts in these forums.   Your suggestion has been noted.   Thank you!

Re: Bandwidth Limitation by Device

Thanks, @Dave_Coleman  Appreciate it very much!  Would love to have the feature.

It's a good compromise between bandwidth cap death, and absolutely no internet at all, for certain devices/users.
