Blocking video but not the site

My kids are using the BBC website a lot and most of what they use is fine. The danger is they spend too much time looking at the videos on the site. Would there be a way to block video but not the rest of the site?

Hi Bicks,

Have you tried to add news.bbc.co.uk to the black list under Settings -> Web?

Thanks,

Katie

I could give that a go. Wont that just block all news elements My problem is particularly with the Cbeebies and Cbbc section of the site. I'm trying to reduce the amount of TV they watch, but I'm happy for them to play games. As those two areas are littered with video, I was hoping to block it. If Online Family can't block it, I'm guessing a port could be blocked on the machine using the firewall, but I only want to block that on the kids accounts.

Re: Blocking video but not the site

Hi Bicks,

Looks like some of the TV programs, like BBC Entertainment can be blocked by adding www.bbcentertainment.com to the block list.  These programs are redirected to new websites.

For Cbeebies and Cbbc, looks like they are the sub-sites of the bbc.co.uk website.  Having the ability to add sub-site addresses to allowed or black lists is on our enhancement list.

Thanks,

Katie

Thanks Katie

How will I be able to know that the subsite solution has been implemented?
