browser extensions or toolbar

Suddenly Google Chrome keeps bringing this up at the top right of the browser.  As far as I can tell, I DID accept the Norton extensions for Google Chrome on the particular computer but this message continues to appear:

----

Norton Security Toolbar support has been removed

Our new Google Chrome(TM) extensions offer similar online browsing protection features and only take a moment to install.

Stay Protected

----

I do not understand.  What do I need to look for?  I already accepted installation of whatever norton extensions I know to accept. How do I find what if anything I am missing?  When I look in Extensions, I find these:

Norton Safe Search 3.0.2.7

Norton Safe Web 3.1.0.2

Norton Security Toolbar 2018.15.0.41

Re: browser extensions or toolbar

Hi,

Based on your above comment, I assume you had already installed Norton Safe Web extension on Chrome browser.

Please remove "Norton Security ToolBar" extension from your Chrome browser, since you had already installed "Norton Safe Web" extension which offers similar protection features.

Re: browser extensions or toolbar

vikveksu,

I would like to try disabling the Toolbar instead, and hopefully, just doing that might work.  Otherwise, I may need to do what you said.

Hello Jdeedeeny

You can try this at your own risk.

You can also check out Google and  type your question in  that. Just be careful that you pick a safe site.

Re: browser extensions or toolbar

viveksu,

Thanks for your suggestion.  I assume removing toolbar would work, but disabling it also works, which is all I did.  I picked my own post as the solution.

Re: browser extensions or toolbar

Would you please help me.  I just started getting that same pop-up on Google Chrome.  I read the answer that was posted but I really don't know what I should do exactly to eliminate this issue. Would some one either give me the step's I need to take or possibly direct me to Norton's written directions on what to do?.  Not a computer guru but I can follow direction's really well.

Thank you

Re: browser extensions or toolbar

Uninstall Norton Security Toolbar from Chrome, then go to here  -  https://identitysafe.norton.com/client  -  and install the Norton Safe Web extension.

A little bit of knowledge is... well a little bit of knowledge.
