Can I update 2 seperate norton accounts with one disk

Hello

I have a complicated situation here... I have used up all three of my norton liscences (one on a computer that is no longer with us). My father just got a computer, that comes with 15 months of norton already on it (HP shop). When my norton expires (3 months), I would like to renew it. If I renew my account can I add those renewed subscription days to my fathers account, so we dont have to buy 2 seperate liscences. As I said one computer is gone so I will not be renewing norton on that.

Any help would be great, thank you!

Re: Can I update 2 seperate norton accounts with one disk

Hi GreatNate1312:

I think what would have to happen is for your father to talk to customer service, give them the new activation key, and ask them to add the days to his account.  You could then use the key to activate your Norton.  If you insert the key in your machine, the days will go to your account.  I don't think they can transfer them to a different account at that point.

Alternatively, you can enter the key in your account and your father can renew using the same key.  Either way, you will either both be on your account or both on your father's account.

Customer Service Chat is available here.  Scroll down for chat.  They will let you know what you can do.

Remember though, that all three activations run concurrently, so they will all expire 366 days from the date that the first activation was used.  I doubt that you would be allowed to transfer time from your license to your father's license, but your father could use one of your three activations under the license that you purchase.  The trouble is that if he already has 12 months of time remaining on his current subscription , your three activations will all be near expiration by the time his current license is done.  Delphinium's suggestion might work - I'm not sure.

Just adding to what the others have said -- you can recover the use of that activation on a PC no longer in use by you when you contact Customer Support as suggested .... does that simplify things for you?

Do ask about the combining since we have had some reports of something like this being done to help out the user.

Re: Can I update 2 seperate norton accounts with one disk

Hello

We are assuming here that the father's 15 months of Norton trial is the same NIS that is installled in the O/P's computer also. Since the father's Norton program sounds like it came from HP, it might be slightly altered by them also, so it may not be possible to use the same key.. These are all different possibilities. Customer support will be the ones to contact to get the definite answers.

Hello Delph

Your link works, but mine is supposed to be new and it gives a choice of products and languages it says. Maybe yours does the same thing. I haven't had a need to use the chat feature myself yet.

Please let us know of your results GreatNate1312.

Additionally, if it is not allowed you can check out Norton Management.

It isn't exactly what're you asking for but it may be of some use.

I do like you what're you asking for and it was suggested.

Perhaps, Norton Management is one step further in that direction.

Interesting.  I wonder if it sends the CHAT to different places depending on the language.

delphinium,

With yours (as was mine) it is helpful to add that the user may need to scroll down to see the CHAT button since we have had users end up back here!

No bad thing but not what we intended! <s>
