Can I use Norton on Windows XP after Jan 2021?

It is unclear to me about how Norton will or will not "support" Windows XP in early 2021. Does that mean that it will not install and run, or that it will install but not receive updates and support? I am buying an XP machine to run certain old programs that won't run under anything higher.

I am referring to the latest 360, Internet Security or Lifelock, I am not sure exactly what I have anymore with all the different names.

Re: Can I use Norton on Windows XP after Jan 2021?

Hello oblates. From the end of service announcement it states the following:

After the end-of-support date, computers running unsupported operating systems will stop receiving product, service and protection updates and virus definitions

Your SUPPORTED currently installed product on XP will continue to install and receive product updates and definitions UP TO the time in Jan. 2021 Norton ends all support.

Current NEW generation Norton 360 products that do not support Windows XP cannot be installed. Supported Norton products are listed here as well. Please read this article for better reflection about what features have already been disabled and the status of maintenance mode.

Cheers

Re: Can I use Norton on Windows XP after Jan 2021?

Microsoft extended support for XP ended almost seven years ago.  I would not count on much support from any third party vendors at this point.  I would consider keeping your XP machine off the internet.  I would download and scan anything intended for the XP machine to a separate computer that is up-to-date and then copy it over.
