Can not log into Password Manager using Edge

OS Microsoft 10, Browser Edge. The problem stated the first week of February 2023. When I open the browser the Norton Password Manager icon is grayed out. When I click on the icon I’m taken to a login page to Set Up Your Brower. Never get to the page to Unlock Vault. I’ve been using Password Manager for about 24 months now without any problems. I click on Next and I’m taken to a login page for Norton. I login and I’m taken to a blank page that says Redirecting Please What. The application never opens, just a blank page. I’ve removed the extension from Edge and then installed it again same results. I finally downloaded Chrome installed the extension and are able to log into Password Manager. I’ve run out of ideas at this point. Prefer Edge to Chrome but if I have to live with Chrome I will.

Using Microsoft edge on Windows 11

I had the same problem, Go to >Settings >Cookies and Site Permissions >Block third-party cookies.  Make sure this is in the off position.  Close browser then restart. 

Once I turned it off the Vault would load.

Are you using this version of Edge?

No I'm running  Version 110.0.1587.46 (Official build) (64-bit)

I just updated Edge to  Version 110.0.1587.50 (Official build) (64-bit)

Still unable to log into Password Manager using Edge. Works just fine with Chrome.

Edge Version 110.0.1587.50 (Official build) (64-bit)

Have you tried completly unistalling Edge and I mean also removing it from Registery and reinstalling.  Forgive me if you have already tried this.

Peter. Please verify your version of the PWM extension is the latest as I have posted. Version 8.0.1.29. Also under "System and Performance" in Edge settings disable startup boot if enabled, close and restart Edge. Also under "Profiles" check that you are logged into Edge, it will require your Microsoft credentials to do so.

I also recommend you DO NOT, in any manner tamper with the Windows registry regarding Edge, unless, you absolutely know what you are doing. There is a safe way to remove Edge with a bit of skill and attention on your part following the guide below. A restart will clear it and allow for another browser to be used. Please take note: after the restart you can once again edit the registry key to again reinstall Edge and see if a clean install corrects the issue. Use the area of the article labeled " How to uninstall Microsoft Edge: Stop Edge reinstalling " and follow step # 4.

Your Windows 10 PC should now be completely free of Microsoft Edge. If you decide you want the browser after all, just change the value you created to “0” and download Edge from Microsoft(opens in new tab).

Sorry, this took so long to answer. Yes, I'm running the current PWM extension Version 8.0.1.29. I've tried everything that's been suggested except for removing Edge completely and doing a fresh install. My main computer I work on is a Desktop in my office. I also have a Laptop that sometimes goes months without being used. I had forgotten about it completely so started it yesterday. Same results that the Desktop is having. Checked the Build numbers and both the Desktop and Laptop are running the same. I've removed the PWM extension from Edge and then added it back in on both. Neither works. I know that in January 2023 sometime I used the PWM on the Laptop and it worked. I'm beginning to wonder what both machines have in common since both are acting the same. At first, I believed it was a problem between Microsoft and Norton but I'm not sure now. The only other thing the two machines have in common is my network but I haven't changed anything there. Could my ISP have changed something that might be affecting Norton PWM? I'm going to uninstall Edge on the Laptop and reinstall and see if that may correct the problem I' having.

Have same issue on two computers. Running recommended versions of Edge and PWM. Shutoff fast boot and restarted Edge, PWM defaults to setup screen. OS is win10 current version.

Thanks for everyone's help I think I finally figured it out. When I was trying to log into PWM using Edge I never got to the login screen. Instead, I was taken to a screen to setup my Web Brower. When you click on Next you are taken to a screen to log into your Norton Account. Since I can't remember my Norton account password, I would log into Norton using my Google account, I can remember that password. I then saw a page that says I'm being Redirected please wait, or something like that. After about 5 seconds the page would just go white, I never got to the PWM Unlock your vault screen. I didn't realize I had to be logged into Norton to be able to log into PWM. The reason Chrome worked was when I logged into Norton using Google in Chrome the PWM Unlock you vault screen would come up. Edge works I just need to log into my Norton account using my Norton account information not my Google account. Thanks again for everyone's help.

Thanks for the reply.

PWM version 8.0.1.29

Disabled Startup boot

Edge Version 110.0.1587.50

Restarted Edge

Attempted to open PWM – directed to setup page for PWM which required signing into Norton 360. Signed into account this finally brought up the Vault login page. Now signed into PWM.

Below is what might have been the issue.

Re-read your previous post stating to “Also under "Profiles" check that you are logged into Edge, it will require your Microsoft credentials to do so.”

Up until this time had always not signed in with a profile or logged into Edge or just signed in with a profile and not logged into Edge.

Don’t understand what or why this has changed but currently PWM is opening.

ther are comming a new update to edge 8.0.2.65 it will proberly fix you problems take a small password is a good ider
