Cangrats Symantec!!! After being a Moderator & 2 year user of COMODO...

Hi Everyone!!

I would just like to say, to the entire Symantec - You guys have done an amazing job with Norton 2009!! I am currently trialing Norton Internet Security 2009 and I am REALLY considering to buy it.

This is just fantastic - I have been a user of COMODO Firewall for 2 years, and only gained Modership earlier this year, And I knew in the past... "Everyone hated Norton, Norton was a memory hog, etc" and it was true - But you guys have really raised the bar, and seriously did just a great job with NIS 2009, And well worth... Hmmm about 10% of my paycheck per week? :P Seriously... I will buy it...

I just can't say anything else... Everything impresses me... After all those years of everyone hating Norton, Including my self, This is top notch... I dunno I'm speechless, The money just must be really pooring in for you guys. :)

Keep up the great work, I am proud new user & forum member.

Cheers,

Josh

Hey Josh. Be sure to turn off Automatic Program Control and turn on Advanced Event Monitoring. This will allow you better control over all event's. Also trun Heuristics all the way up to aggressive. So why did you leave Comodo?Message Edited by Dieselman743 on 10-03-2008 04:07 AM
Real Time Protection = NIS 2009 + NATBehavior Analysis = ThreatfireOn Demand = MBAM

Just remember that if you turn it up to "Aggressive", you may get False Positives.Message Edited by Floating_Red on 10-03-2008 12:28 PM

Dieslman743.

Well... I'm the type of person who changes Security every year or every few years. I left COMODO because I was getting tired of Defense+, And the fact that NIS 2009 just impressed me so much.

Who knows... I might go back to COMODO, But I am buying a one year subcription for NIS 2009 - So it wont be any time soon. COMODO make good software, and I respect them as a company.  But it was time for a change... And I just love the updates every 5-15 mins, That's incredible!!  And I don't mind paying the 70 bux at all... I work as a Casual person and that 70 bux is worth about 5 hrs but bloody worth it IMO.

Things I like in NIS 2009:

+Awesome GUI!!

+ONLY 2 Processes

+LOW Memory Usage  (Max 20MB on my system all up), Usually Averages 8-14MB.

+Good Detection Rates

+Good Reviews & Free Support.

+It doesn't Alert you over and over again!!!

I have Huertics at Aggrestive and all activty monitors on. Went through each app, allowed connections. I am aware of possible FP's. But I am an Advanced user. :)  All running WELL... GREAT!

Cheers,

Josh
