cannot access folder on connected vpn server

I have a vpn server at the office.  I can connect to the vpn server with no problem.  I cannot however access the folders on the server.  Only way i can connect is to disable the firewall.  I have tried going in to the firewall settings and adding the ip address of the server to the device trust section.  I have tried adding both the ip address of the server on the internal network(192.xx.xx.xx).  I have tried adding the externally visible ip (7xx.xxx.xxx.xx).  Still cant access folders on the server without disabling firewall.

Any ideas?

Re: cannot access folder on connected vpn server

Have you asked the IT dept at the office?

Try resetting the firewall, and restarting your computer. Then test. To reset the Norton firewall, from the main Norton Security screen click on Settings - Firewall. On the General tab, click on Reset beside Firewall Reset. Restart your computer. As you use programs that access your network/internet, the firewall rules will be created again.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.
