Cannot completely remove some form of the Trojan Gen2 or Gen3 virus.

I received either the Trojan Gen2 or Gen3 virus back in December through an email frmo a co-worker.  Norton 360 found it and "removed it" but I am still having the constant re-direct issues in my web browser which leads me to believe that the virus is still embedded somewhere in my computer.

Need help removing it.

Thanks

I may has well be like other malware removal experts here.

Generic message

Welcome,

The problem is malware. It isn't a virus and it isn't destructive, it's just a serious pita. norton is protecting you from viruses but neither it nor any other single security protuct can protect you 100% of the time from 100% of the theats that are released daily by the thousands. I keep the free scanner from Malwarebytes

http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free

and the one from SuperAntiSpyware

http://superantispyware.com/

on my desktop to use as on demand scanners when I need a second opinion. Both are excellent at what they do and they are Norton compatible.
