"Cannot connect to the Norton server" After RnR Advanced and DL & Install
_Norton Security with Backup 188.8.131.52, Win10, 64 bit, Sony Vaio Laptop_
Despite an up and running NS: Mail and Calendar, AMD Graphics etc. suddenly disappeared from my laptop.
Did two System Restore and, thereafter System Recovery (Effect: all Sony specific progs and a lot of other stuff gone) - no remedy.
_Support ID 36964315_: "After System Recovery Win10: Norton Security DL & Install. The NS prog can't contact the Symantec Server - No Backup Config, no Subscription Status & no Login. LiveUpdate & Autofix works.
Furthermore, Win10 Mail (and Calender) app still missing."
Two Support sessions (about 8 hours! Remote control, by Symantec Support) did not solve this problem!!
Ends with the Support giving me the phone-number to Microsoft - to get Internet Explorer 11 reinstalled - I uninstalled IE long time ago (MS Techsupport instructions) - But, with IE gone, NS never had any problem before & not on my other computer either.
Moreover, having run RnR standard and advanced several times I still get: "Cannot connect to the Norton server" (as in Subject) When trying to activate Backup, trying Login (from the NS prog) or running Subscription check, it says "An unexpected browser error has occured." - Standard Apps tested are Chrome, Edge and Firefox.
(And, yes, I've read the 2016 Forum-thread (same type of problem) - Nothing there solves my issue).
Any help appreciated!
