Cannot Connect to the Norton Server. An unknown browser exception has occurred. Doesn't seem to be any solution

I got the message that I needed to do a critical update for the VPN to work.  When I try to do the update I get the message "Cannot connect to the Norton Server.  An unknown browser exception has occurred.
