Cant disable auto protect.

So i am having this issue.I just upgraded to the latest build of win 10 from the first release build via win update. Now the thing is i can'disable autoprotect by right clicking on the icon when first start my PC.It works but after some time it doesn't work anymore.Even if  i try to disable it auto-protect turns back on.I can disable every other feature just fine but autoprotect refuses to  turn off.I reinstalled norton after uninstalling it using norton remover still same issue.

I asked for live support. The technician came via remote control and uninstalled norton then cleaned all registry and installed it back. Now it was working fine now again same issue can't disable auto-protect.Is this some kind of bug with latest win 10 build and norton?

Re: Cant disable auto protect.

Are you logged in as a administrator when trying to do this?  Have you noticed any other issues with Win10 after the update?  Folders not showing in Explorer.exe, shortcuts not working, task manager not opening, etc.  I only ask as I have seen some systems have permission problems related to the latest Win10 version "update / upgrade".

Yes i am admin.using an local admin profile. No other issue i have seen.Task manger opens every time.Shortcuts all work.I never had this issue with the initial win 10 build. Its only after the update this is happening.I keep my automatic update service disabled.Only update once in a while. So it cant be some random update.

Re: Cant disable auto protect.

How about SONAR Protection...or Boot Time Protection..?
In Settings do you find any greyed out switches...?

Re: Cant disable auto protect.

No greyout switches.I simply can't turn off auto protect. Also boot time protection always gets stuck at aggressive. If i change it back to off and apply, it switches back to aggressive after i open setting again.WTF is going on?

Yes, user reported Bootime Protection stuck awhile back....but, can't remember.
And user reported Auto-Protect stuck....we imagined it was related to Settings being rooted to Admin account.  Again, don't recall how that was sorted.

Re: Cant disable auto protect.

Hello

If you are having issues disabling Auto Protect, then malware will have problems turning it off also. Maybe it's a good thing. You shouldn't have to disable Auto-Protect too often. Can't remember when I had to use Auto protect last time.

Success always occurs in private and failure in full view. Windows 7 Pro 64 bit Norton Core Security Plus 22.17.1.50 Core Firmware 282 I E 11 Chrome latest version.
