Can't find program files or desktop icon after download

Hi everyone,

I just downloaded and installed Norton Security Deluxe and I'm not sure what the problem is. During the installation my past version of Norton Security was removed and it seems like the installation was completed successfully and Norton is running. The Norton Security icon appears in my system tray and I can open Norton Security that way.

However, I noticed that there was no shortcut icon on my desktop like there usually is after a Norton download/installation. I thought this was odd and when I went to create one I noticed that I couldn't find the program files for Norton Security either.

I clicked Start>All Programs>Norton Security, but it seems the folder is empty?

Does anyone know what happened? Did everything not install correctly? I think when I went to norton.com/setup (as per the instructions), I may have clicked the option to enter a new product key, rather than just clicking download norton. Might that explain what's happening?

I'm totally lost here. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My existing Norton icon vanished from the system tray, and Norton wouldn't open from the program file folder. I had to uninstall and reinstall. After that, Norton works and the icon is back in the system tray, but there are no files in the program folder.

Yon373 If you are on Window 8/10 having fast boot enabled can cause this issue. Disable it and reboot, recheck your issue. Here is how to disable fast boot: https://community.norton.com/en/forums/windows-881-or-10-and-fast-start-feature-0
