Can't open Norton on my mac, Says Pending

Can't open Norton on my Mac, says Pending. I have Catalina.This has been going on for a month for so. Anyone know how to fix it?

Thank you for posting on the Norton Community. We have released Norton Security for Mac 8.7.4 for all customers. It carries fix for one of the known causes for this issue. Could you please update to the latest version and let us know if this issue persists?

I have been your client for so many years... They took and revoked the license without notifying or even explaining my position. This is how American companies act hypocritically towards their customers. Well, well ... bye!

This problem is cropping up on my iMac also. I am running Monterey 12.2.1 but it has appeared with earlier MacOS versions. The only solution I've found is to completely uninstall all Norton programs then reinstall. It's annoying to say the least. Frequently I have to uninstall and reinstall several times because the install doesn't complete. Right now I am sitting on my second attempt at reinstallation with a spinning blue circle. Has been doing this for about 5 minutes. Activity Monitor shows Norton is using over 50% of CPU, but nothing is happening. 

I'm reaching the point that I will not renew Norton and will find another virus vendor who doesn't leave problems unattended for months and months.
