child can still open computer after locked

I locked my child's computer, but it doesn't completely shut it down; it just goes to sleep, so he can still access his apps. It's slow and annoying because it keeps locking, but it's still usable. Is there any way I can get it to shut down completely or change it? his laptop is windows 10.

Welcome to Norton Family Forum, Thank you for reaching out to us.
Norton Family only locks the windows device when Time usage is exhausted or during time curfew or Instant lock is enforced. Norton Family  does not shutdown the windows device.
