Child uninstalling NF without password prompt (Windows)

My son has somehow managed to repeatedly uninstall NF, without it prompting him for a parent password. He simply clicks on Uninstall from the Windows menu, and it removes NF from his machine. I don't even get a notification to my parent account.

I've now reinstalled it more than 10 times. I've tested it after installation and it does sometimes request a password to unistall, but usually not. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to when it asks for a password and when it doesn't. But it's not much use having parental controls that can be removed so easily!

He is using a laptop with Windows 10.

Please can someone advise?

Re: Child uninstalling NF without password prompt (Windows)

Hi MrsVJ

NF will always ask for a password during Un-Install, when the device is properly configured with a Norton Family Account.  So if you try to Un-Install just after the Installation, the device is not bound to the NF Account, so it will allow Un-Installation without asking for a password.

Could you please check by configuring NF completely on your child device?
Please get back to us, if you still face any further issues on this.

Re: Child uninstalling NF without password prompt (Windows)

I have configured the device to the NF account. I've installed NF by adding a device, assigned the device to my child's profile, and checked that it is working properly (i.e it recognises the device, blocks sites accordingly and monitors time). I have done all this but still NF does *not* ask for a password on uninstall.
