Chinese pop up box

Today after opening my emails I had a box pop up in the bottom right hand corner. I did not open any attachments so not sure how it got there. I then ignored the pop up and I went to open my Norton 360 but that was not available. So something had wiped that out too. I then disconnected my internet and restarted the computer but it took forever and would not restart, so I did a manual restart. Once that was done the pop up was gone and so was my Norton 360. Reconnected my internet and downloaded Norton 360 again. Updated and running a full scan now. Has anyone have any idea what just happened to me? Thanks.

Hello Joseph

Welcome to the Norton Community Forum

I would recommend that you stop over at one of the free malware removal sites which we recommend. They can help you check over your computer to see if you have any malware. If you do have some, they will help you to remove it on a 1 to 1 basis. Please stick with them until they say your computer is clean.

Please see this link for an up to date description of these sites plus the addition of a newly listed site formed by one of our successful malware remover users. The new site is listed first in this link.

Please come back and let us know how you made out. Thanks.
