Configure under Advanced Program Control not working

I need to add an exception to my firewall in Norton Internet Security.  From the main NIS window, I click on the Settings tab, then I click on Firewall.  On the firewall configuration page, I have found that the Configure option for the following items does not work - simply does not respond:

Uncommon Protocols

Network Trust

Device Trust

All other Advanced Program Control items on that page seem to work, as their respective dialogue boxes launch normally.

I am needing to add either a network trust or a device trust, but I cannot do either due to this problem.

- Windoes 10 Home

- I have tried the Remove and Reinstall Tool

- Per another thread, I have attempted to remove MS update K2756872, but found it is not installed on my system.

I appreciate your input.

Re: Configure under Advanced Program Control not working

Hi, Hendrich, Have you done a full RESTART, as this is needed for Norton to correctly operate/update.

Also, Fast Start Up should be disabled as it is known to cause issues.

Re: Configure under Advanced Program Control not working

I restarted my machine and sure enough, I had the option to "update and shut down" or "update and restart".  I chose to update and restart, but after booting back up, I have the same issue.

How do I turn off Fast Start?  I have seen many threads about it, but not found any that tells how to turn it off.

Re: Configure under Advanced Program Control not working

If Rainbow_2's link suggestion doesn't fix your problem, you might need to fully remove Norton using the NRRT Removal option and then download a fresh copy from your Norton Account.

Then run Live Update manually after the install until no more are found restarting when required, and then restart once more..

Let us know how you go.
