Conflicker in the news

I read in the news today that there is some activity about conflicker (though it should be called con %$##@er)

It said something about infected computers dialing out to the internet to mypspace, ebay, msn and a few others.

So again, those of us who are able to get our Norton virus def updates, we ahould still consider ourselves safe at this point, eh?

W32.Downadup.E, a.k.a. Conficker.E, was Discovered today (Thursday, April 09, 2009), and Virus Definitions sgould be Released in a few hours for Norton 2008 Products and Newer; Norton 2006/2007 will get Virus Definitions tomorrow, or maybe in a few hours.

As long as you keep your Anti-Virus Product up-to-date, then you will be Protected.  I would also suggest, at the moment, that Users Run at least one Full System Scan a day, along with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Full Scan at least twice-a-week, Updated, and Dis-Connected from the Internet.

Also check out my Thread called W32.Downadup Information.

symantec has Firewall Rules put in to Norton Products that Block the Port(s) that the Attackers use to try and get Downadup on to Users, to Infect computers, although, you do still need to be careful.
