The Connection Was Reset

Is there forum maintenance going on?  I keep getting "The connection was reset" message on both of my machines.

Both only here on the Norton forums.

Both using FF33.1.1

A little bit of knowledge is... well a little bit of knowledge.

Re: The Connection Was Reset

Thanks bjm.

I don't know if this is related  -  https://community.norton.com/forums/live-update-fail-error-8921253 -  but I logged into my NETGEAR DGND2700v2 modem router and was prompted to update the firmware.  I've done that now and so far I haven't had the "Connection was reset" message.  Maybe that is netgear's way of telling me to check for firmware updates.

It looks like both problems are solved now anyway.

Cheers.

I'll have to get him on to it.     @ ALF???

I normally check myself every now and then but apparently not for around the last two weeks.  I have never been prompted to update before even when I knew there was a newer version available.  I have manually updated about four times before today's update.

Cheers.

Re: The Connection Was Reset

This problem has returned.  I'm getting the "Connection was reset'" message in FF and this in IE 11.

Refreshing the page makes these messages disappear most of the time.

Re: The Connection Was Reset

I mainly use Chrome, and  IE11 rarely, both without the problem you see.

Could it be add-ons related, at least in IE11? I'm saying so because of this thread in the seven forums:

Page 2 - post #17 the op confirms the problem is solved after "the add-on clean-up", but in post #20 they are suggesting another user what else to try if that doesn't help.

Re: The Connection Was Reset

Shutting down my modem / router and systems, then starting them has once again seemed to solve this problem.

Re: The Connection Was Reset

The same day my Norton subscription renewed, my older computer no longer had internet access through my router.  Is this a Norton-related settings problem?  I'm sending this from a machine that is not normally covered by the Norton sub

Um, how did you post in a Thread from Nov 2014.   Um, did your subscription status update.   Did you sync with Norton servers.  Support > Subscription Status.   Have you performed a cold start since renewal ?

It doesn't look like it is related to my issue anyway.  I suggest you post in the appropriate board for your Norton program.
