Core Android app menu icon is missing

Anyone seeing this other than me? Icon next to Security in the main menu is missing.

Re: Core Android app menu icon is missing

I cannot even download the app in Canada yet, so just asking here. Are there any Core App settings to check, Maybe a setting for ongoing notifications?

Re: Core Android app menu icon is missing

Hello Soul

I am seeing the same thing.. It is a minor bug, but I do see that there is a missing icon. I can't recall if it was there on previous Apps since you found it for Tom Smith. That is almost my brother in law's name, lol.

And what do you see when you tap Settings from the screen you show?

Re: Core Android app menu icon is missing

Hello Peter

Settings is not the one with the missing icon. Security is the one with the missing icon. It works as it should. I called it a minor bug because it is just the icon that is missing. It's like a decoration that is missing. It's not a functional thing that is missing. It's just part of the decoration you could say. The Security works as it should. I'm one who can notice things like that with many things and different things. When I used to work, I was often asked to do proof-reading type of things, I was like Eagle-eyes. I would pick up on something like that. It's like everyone has different specialties. That used to hold true, but now you have to be a Man od all trades and not a specialized one.

Re: Core Android app menu icon is missing

Going from SoulAsylum's first image, the Norton Security notification icon is displayed at the top of the screen. AFAIK, he is asking about an icon for the Core App.

In NMS, there is an app setting to display that icon. You  can turn it on or off. I was trying to establish whether there was a similar setting in the Core App that might have gotten reset with the latest update.

Re: Core Android app menu icon is missing

Hello Peter

I just looked over all the settings that I could find in my Android App. I don't recall how long that Icon has been missing for. I wasn't able to find any setting that would change any of those settings. We both have Android 1.29 App and both have FIOS. The App updated either on  with in the last day or 2. I do remember that my Samsung S7 received a System Update and then right after that, my App updated. I see those icons as decorations since you can't just tap an icon separate from the word.

It's just a minor bug as far as I can see.

Thanks.

Re: Core Android app menu icon is missing

All: The 2nd image is to show the "icon" or shield missing next to Security in the main menu should be there. I only noticed it yesterday and felt the need to report it as a bug. The Android update from Verizon for the phone came several days before the updated version to the Core app so that isn't the cause. Checking again this morning and having rebooted my phone the shield icon is still not present.

Cheers

Re: Core Android app menu icon is missing

This missing icon has occurred with NMS in the past. So your reporting it here should get some results.

Re: Core Android app menu icon is missing

Hopefully so peter. Just checked the app again, the icon is still missing. I have rebooted the phone several times, still no joy.

Re: Core Android app menu icon is missing

Update: Uninstalled the Core app, rebooted my phone. Downloaded a fresh copy for Android ver. 1.29, the icon is still missing. Maybe the next update will correct it.

Re: Core Android app menu icon is missing

Hello Soul

The icon is missing from my Android also, so I doubt there is anything you can do with your phone to fix it. I would think that the fix would have to come from Norton as you say. Perhaps it will come with App 130. Please just think as a wish. Currently, there is no App 1.3.0, just some wishful speculation

Re: Core Android app menu icon is missing

Well, we are now into March and this is still missing its icon. Core firmware 229 didn't correct the issue so its definitely the Android app. Definitely a minor visual bug not on the radar of the dev team to correct.

Re: Core Android app menu icon is missing

Oh, you already did something about it :)

Like i said on my post, i've got the same issue. The androïd app is really buggy - I really don't think the Norton Core is responsable for this...

For me, applications =/= Norton Core Firmware - if it's work with iOS without any issue, it should work with a (great) app on Androïd without requested anything on the Norton Core.

Re: Core Android app menu icon is missing

Hello

I have the same issue with my Android. It may be that the Android App needs to be updated to fix it. It really is just a cosmetic issue I think since the word Security is there and it works. At least that  part works ok.

Thanks.
